Spirit of VIC Awards

Each year, VIC recognizes those in the community whose achievements are aligned with the mission of VIC to build bridges of understanding, service and justice.

The awards recognize the best in courage, compassion and service on behalf of the people of Los Angeles. The recipients are living examples of good government, business and faith-based organizations working to improve the community in which they live.

The awards are given in several categories:

Operation Gratitude Sending Care packages to U.S. Military for its work as an extraordinary grassroots volunteer organization that since 2003 has sent over a half million care packages to service men and women serving overseas.

Interfaith Leadership Award
Progressive Jewish Alliance & Muslim Public Affairs Council for Project NewGround - encouraging Muslims and Jews of all backgrounds, especially young professionals, to build honest communications and positive relationships with one another.

Corporate Leadership Award
James A. Thomas, Thomas Properties Group for his commitment to the development of sustainable and environmentally innovative commercial building designs and construction which improve the quality of life in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.
