The 34th Annual San Fernando Valley CROP Hunger Walk will take place on Sunday, November 8, 2009. Registration begins at 12:30 pm and the walk begins at 1:30 pm at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. The church is located at 5619 Lindley Avenue, Tarzana, CA 91356.
The CROP Hunger Walk helps children and families worldwide - and right here in the U.S. - to have food for today, while building for a better tomorrow. Each year, worldwide, some two million CROP walkers, volunteers and sponsors put their hearts and soles in motion, raising over $16 million per year to help end hunger and poverty around the world and in their own communities. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds of the valley area walk remain in the valley to support local food assistance programs operated by VIC such as Meals on Wheels and a coalition of 12 food pantries.
