VIC (Valley Interfaith Council) invites the public to attend its annual Labor Day picnic and program to be held on Monday, September 7, 2009 at the Northridge United Methodist Church located at 9650 Reseda Blvd. at Superior St. in Northridge. All are welcome and no reservations are required for the free family BBQ, compliments of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor and SEIU Local 721. The BBQ will begin at 5:30 pm followed by the program at 7:00 pm. Kent Wong, Director of the UCLA Center for Labor Research and Education will be the featured speaker for the program. He will address the topic “Labor at a Crossroad”. The purpose of this program is to strengthen the connection between the religious and labor communities in support of common values. Please come, celebrate the dignity of labor and enjoy food, fun, great music, and an important message for us all!
